What size SSC wants for photo and signature
SSC exams (CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD) ask for two separate files with clear limits. Get these right the first time and the upload page stops rejecting you.
- Photo: 20–50 KB, roughly 200×230 px (3.5×4.5 cm), JPG.
- Signature: 10–20 KB, JPG.
- If your SSC notice lists slightly different numbers, follow your portal — requirements can vary by cycle.
Resize your SSC photo and signature without going blurry
A 20 KB signature is tiny, so a little softening is normal and expected — the app aims for the best quality that still fits, not magic. To keep both files looking clean:
- Use a sharp, well-lit original photo; sign in dark ink on plain white paper for the signature.
- Keep the photo near 200×230 px — don't shrink the pixels much smaller or the face gets fuzzy.
- Crop the signature tightly so the compression spends its budget on the ink, not empty space.
- Use the before/after preview to confirm the KB weight before you save.
JPG, dimensions and re-uploading
SSC wants JPG, so set the output format to JPG even if your original is a PNG or HEIC from a phone — the app converts it for you. If the form insists on exact dimensions, use center-crop to lock the photo to 200×230 px instead of just scaling.
Doing this every exam cycle? Keep Image Resizer PC on your PC and reuse it. You can also drop several photos in at once and batch them, with no file-count limit.
